Current Inspirations

Inspiration for good design is all around us, and sometimes we find it in the most unexpected of places. One of my favorite exercises for new clients is this: Pause long enough to notice what you really like (and what you don’t). Then take notes (or in most cases, photos with your smartphone). Listen to your intuition, after all, you’re an expert when it comes to you. After doing this for even a short time, AFD clients often find that what they really like is a bit  different from:

  1.  What their friends like. (Not that your friends don’t have good taste…)
  2.  The latest and greatest “must-have” items
  3. What retailers push us to like (we all have mailboxes overflowing with their catalogs)
  4.  What __________ gave them as a gift for _________________ .
  5.  Treasures they have loved in previous stages of life.

Take a look around. You just might surprise yourself. And if you’d like help developing your sense of style, we have a process that might just be able to help with that. To learn more, email us at designs@annfarrow.com
